SLM30-E Swirl Flow Meter
Description The SLM30-E is designed to measure the flow of liquids, gases, and steam. The measured medium is conditioned at the inlet. As flow is introduced to the SLM30-E, a fixed impeller causes rotation of the medium. The frequency of rotation measured by piezo sensor is proportional to the flow rate. Due to the inner geometry of the SLM30-E meter body, a constant Strouhal number (St) over a wide range of the Reynolds number (Re) is possible and excellent linear flow characteristics are achieved. Since the flow is conditioned on entry, many considerations regarding laminar flow are mitigated. This technology allows the SLM30-E to operate with impressively short straight pipe considerations and provide unrivalled measurement performance. The SLM30-E utilises three primary sensing elements to provide the mass flow rate of steam, liquids, and gases. - Piezo frequency sensor (flow rate) - Internal RTD temperature sensor (std) or external temperature transmitter (temperature compensation) - Pressure (fixed or measured via external transducer*) * Supplied separately

The SLM30-E swirl flowmeter is designed for saturated steam, superheated steam, liquid, and gas applications. Equipped with an internal temperature sensor, a 4-20mA input for integration with external pressure, temperature or density sensors and user selectable binary outputs, the capability to provide flow computation and energy calculation functionality is possible. Gas analyser outputs may also be integrated for enhanced measurements. HART 7 or Modbus RTU digital communication protocols are offered as standard.
